CASAS Recertification
In accordance with CASAS assessment and implementation guidelines, CT requires biennial recertification for all staff involved with testing, both paper/pencil and eTesting.

To administer CASAS reading, math, and listening tests, adult education programs must ensure that a CCS Program Facilitator is on staff or actively pursuing Facilitator status.
The Director’s designee becomes a Facilitator by completing online self-paced modules offered by CASAS:
-
Module 1: Exploring CASAS
-
Module 2: Exploring CASAS eTests
-
Module 3: Launching Paper Tests with Proctor Certification
-
Module 4a: Interpreting Test Results
-
Module 4b: Instructional Reports
In addition to the modules offered by CASAS, the Facilitator must attend the Connecticut Competency System (CCS) Wrap-Up Training for NEW Program Facilitators and Directors, as well as the CASAS and CCS Review for Educators | Assessments and Reports trainings offered by ATDN in cooperation with the State Department of Education.
The Program Facilitator performs critical functions that ensure the comprehensive and high-quality implementation of the CASAS system (CSDE, 1993).
The Program Facilitator maintains certification by completing the CASAS certification training every two years and submitting new Certificates of Completion to ATDN.
