Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month

Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month is a public awareness campaign that takes place each February to celebrate CTE programs, the accomplishments of CTE staff and advocates, and the importance of CTE for students of all ages.

Previously called “vocational education” or the “industrial arts,” CTE now also encompasses high-tech skills such as robotics, information technology, and mobile app development. Even in traditional programs such as automotive repair or culinary arts, students are learning new technical, interpersonal, and entrepreneurial skills leading to some of the most exciting career paths of the future. CTE prepares youth and adults for a wide range of high-wage, high-skill careers in high demand that can address the nation’s deficit of skilled workers. To help generate positive awareness of CTE, the Association for Career & Technical Education (ACTE) invites you to use these CTE Month resources.
