CT OEC Accepting Technical Assistance Applications for Spring 2022

The CT Office of Early Childhood, in collaboration with the RESC Alliance, invites early childhood centers and schools to submit an application for technical assistance on

Standards, Curriculum, and Assessment and/or The CT Core Knowledge and Competencies for Early Childhood Professionals.

What support is available?

  • 24 hours of support focused on related to Standards, Curriculum, and Assessment: up to 3 hours of training with remaining hours allotted for small group coaching; and/or

  • 6 hours of coaching for program leaders related to implementation of the CT Core Knowledge and Competency Framework in program wide professional development planning and/or individual professional development plans

When will it be offered?

February 1, 2022- June 30, 2022

Who will provide the professional learning?

Programs will be assigned an CT OEC approved trainer/coach for the duration of this work.


Where will this take place?

All professional learning will occur virtually. As circumstances allow, we will consult with individual

programs about the feasibility of in-person training and/or coaching.

What should we consider when assessing our program’s readiness to apply?

  • Programs must have internet access and the ability for professionals to participate via Zoom. It is preferable or each staff person to access professional learning on a separate computer.

  • Programs must be able to release staff of teaching responsibilities to participate in coaching and training.

  • Programs staff must be willing to use the CKCs (Core Knowledge and Competencies for Early Childhood

  • Professionals) in self-reflection and development of individual professional development plans.

  • Someone in a leadership position (Director, Asst. Director, Curriculum Specialist, Ed Manager, etc.) must engage in the planning and follow up of the Standards, Curriculum and Assessment support.

Applications for technical assistance are due no later than February 9, 2022.
