An online English language learning program that provides interactive, skills-based instruction
to support English language development and everyday communication.
​The Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) is pleased to continue offering BurlingtonEnglish instructional seats for the 2026–2027 school year. BurlingtonEnglish is a digital, interactive English language acquisition program designed to support ESL instruction, enhance learner outcomes, and provide flexible learning opportunities for students in both classroom and distance learning environments.

​This opportunity is available to all CSDE state- and federally-funded ESL programs, including agencies currently using BurlingtonEnglish and agencies interested in beginning implementation.
Implementation & Support
​​To ensure successful implementation and maximize the impact of this statewide resource, agencies receiving BurlingtonEnglish seats are expected to follow established implementation guidelines and meet program usage expectations. The BurlingtonEnglish team and the Adult Training and Development Network (ATDN) will provide implementation guidance and ongoing support throughout the process.
Required Steps for New BurlingtonEnglish Agencies:

Review the BurlingtonEnglish New Usage Guidelines.

Complete the required BurlingtonEnglish Seat Interest Google Form, submitted by the agency Director.

Identify agency administrators and teachers who will manage and use BurlingtonEnglish.

Ensure new BurlingtonEnglish administrators and teachers complete required BurlingtonEnglish training before implementation.

BurlingtonEnglish training is required for all new agencies receiving BurlingtonEnglish seats, as well as for new BurlingtonEnglish administrators and teachers. These requirements are designed to ensure agencies have the knowledge and resources needed to successfully implement the program and support student learning.
